Crystal Lake Clinic

Providing Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Animal Assisted Therapy, and Aquatics Therapy for infants and children with a wide variety of needs.

In addition to our core services highlighted above, our Crystal Lake Pediatric Therapy clinic has the following specialty programs:

Aquatic Therapy

This consists of exercises, movement patterns, and skills that are performed in a warm water environment. The physical properties of water decrease weight bearing, provide resistance, increase sensory input, challenge balance, improve endurance, encourage motor planning and timing, and increase relaxation to muscles. It improves motivation and participation and can be appropriate for a number of diagnoses.

Animal Assisted Therapy

Our facility dog, Jimmie, is part of the team. He is utilized to nurture and motivate children to work hard during therapy sessions. Koufax loves to help with pulling kids on the scooter board, playing dress up, or participating in throwing and catching activities.

Partial Weight Bearing

The LiteGait is a gait training device that simultaneously controls weight bearing, posture, and balance over a treadmill or ground. It helps to assist a patient in assuming upright postures and ambulation while controlling weight bearing in these positions.

Interactive Metronome

The Interactive Metronome is a brain-based computerized rehabilitation assessment and training program developed to directly improve the processing abilities that affect attention, motor planning, and sequencing.
